  1. Ye video mujhe hindi me chahiye please🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 ………………………….,………………..

  2. Thanks for the video ⭕️I can see why they made the video this way , to be neutral & educational 🤓I learned about yoga 🧘‍♂️ by reading Autobiography of a yogi by Yogananda❤️🇮🇳🇺🇸🇸🇦

  3. This documentary totally missed the YOGA of BHAGAVAD GITA.. which is the ultimate knowledge of Yoga…. Patanjali is incarnation of Adi Shesha (who is expansion of Lord Vishnu). Very poorly presented, but made so much effort.

  4. Several people here have misrepresented Yoga. Greatness of human is not that he can imagine..Greatness of human being is that he is consciousness and he can reach Divine oinly in human birth… .that is mis-appropriation of our Yogic culture.

  5. 20:10 "when you keep chanting om or quran …"
this is why there is a verse that says :

"When the Qur'an is read, listen to it with attention, and hold your peace: that ye may receive Mercy."
Chapter (7) sūrat l-aʿrāf (The Heights)

  6. "Yoga brings balance and calmness to your mind no matter what ethnicity or religion you belong to". This is correct but the OBJECT of yoga is SAMADHI, not "balance and calmness". It's like saying mathematics teaches us how to compute but WHY do you compute? That central point is being glossed over in sophisticated fashion to avoid saying it is a HINDU practice and the aims of yoga are HINDU RELIGIOUS aims. This fellow Pattnaik is very good at this twisting of meanings to suit his mental masters' agendas. Why would Indians want to "own" yoga? It is and has always been our free gift to the world and everyone knows where it came from. People are free to use what they want of it, just as everyone is free to use mathematics any way they want. Pattanaik suggests that we shouldn't expect acknowledgement of these facts because who knows where yoga came from and is it really Indian? What is Hindu? And so on. The UPA government which clearly had an extra-territorial agenda was complicit in this type of sophistry and this film is a production of their people.

  7. Who the fuck is Devdutt Pattanaik to give an authority on Yoga ? He is neither an Yogi nor a Shastry. See the actual History of Yoga film. It is not some fucking imagination.

  8. Devdutt Patnaik is eloquent and articulate , but a lot of the things he speaks of are wrong , misundertood by him . its unfortunate that we do not have many teachers who are both articulate and technically correct , which lets devdutt achieve the kind of success he has ….

  9. The important thing is to keep practicing. Theory is good, but with practice comes knowledge. As you keep up your practice understanding blossoms. Understanding and knowledge become infused in the practitioner. That has been my experience. Not that I am a know it all, but what benefits I have gained have come by years of consistent practice. And reading and study and applying what I learn. That is part of yoga too. It is a life long pursuit.

  10. A very nice synopsis of the scientific method of different forms of Yoga. It certainly was created by divine intelligence which scientists of our time are desperately trying to understand through their limited way of rationalization.

  11. I get Sooo confused on who to believe & which story is Truthful:) But when I see BKS Iyengar show up….I know I'm on the right track:)

  12. This and harmony with nature are the best and most thorough video about Yoga i've seen on youtube. Just makes me wish there were these types of teachers where I live so I can practice the art the way it was intended. Like the video says most Yoga classes here are just the asana's and nothing else.

  13. Thank you for the video. I wonder if we can watch an English version without subtitles. If yes, please inform the video name in Youtube.

  14. Respected Dalai Lama ji says from time to time that "India is the Guru of Tibet, So Much was brought to Tibet, including religion, it's traditions, language, culture, medicine and health-care. All these and so much more were brought to Tibet through the Kindness of Indian teachers. India is the land of Aryans or Arya Bhumi, anything comes from India is very sacred very respectful for us. Eastern-Asian Buddism and Indian Hinduism are very closely related also Traditional Indian Physiology is much advance. So,therefore I describe, or When I meet an Indian, I always say, Your are traditionally our Guru, We are Chela (disciples), You Indian Our Guru. Then also I mention that we Tibetan's are not only Indian Guru's Chela, but also quit reliable chela, That means in Guru's own land of Dharma, lots of ups and downs, during this period, We your chela through centuries, we kept your knowledge intact, so we are quit a reliable chela (disciples), So our relationship (Indian & Tibet) is something very unique Guru & Chela."

  15. There are many inaccuracies in this Yoga video.  For instance, Mahabharata is much earlier than Buddhism.  Devdutt Pattnaik's explanations are his own; not convincing.  A much better DVD on Yoga is "The History of Yoga".  And, Yoga originated from Hinduism; it is and inextricable part of it.  Watch the other DVD I mentioned – it is thoroughly researched and presented.  This one, the less said the better.  Devdutt Pattnaik???  God help us.

  16. UNCSD Rio+20 Future We Want treats Yoga as a science and art of living with a purpose. It is beyond any region or religion. It unites us all as one common and interdependent planet of people for peace progress and prosperity.

  17. 10, 000 likes from me. exllnt is a small word to show my feeling after watch this video. less time and more informative. good and understandable  definitions. each and every matter in this video (documentary) is very useful for yoga students. thank u so much for all guru's. sri ayyangar ji ( no words. he is great and awesome. i loved his explanation about positive thinking pathway ), devadath patnaik (he gave a good explanation about yoga with good definitions ). sunaina mathur (good explanation about  paathanjala ashtamga yoga Branches ),  Dr Karan singh ji (i loved his explanation a lot. he explained well and simplified the types of 4 yogas ( bhakthi, jnaana, karma and raaja yogas) which is mentioned in the bhagavadgeetha. thanks to Indian diplomacy. /. :).

  18. NOTHING is limited to any religion. Anybody can worship anybody, worship any way they want to do so, and do whatever they like in the world, as long as it does not harm others.

  19. India a country rich with true knowledge and wisdom. that being said, without spirituality there is no yoga or what we in the west like to call "yoga". here in the west when people go to yoga class if there is no effort made on spiritual practice then its nothing more then physical practice or workout. so when we practice yoga its also very important to read the yoga sutras, hatha yoga pradipika, the Gita, etc and try to understand what its saying and apply it to our existence and yoga practice, or else its just a workout.

  20. A better authentic video is 'History of yoga' available on Infintiy foundationa. Yoga was "founded" by Sage Kapila who is the author of Sankhya philosophy. It is one of the 6 darsanas of Hinduism. Yoga is deeply rooted in Hinduism. Hinduism is universal in nature. why ? Hinduism teaches one to practise sva dharma (ones' duties, responsibilities). Does anyone in the world escape from fulfilling his or her dharma ?

  21. I think of all the peoples of the world, the indians are closest to having it right.  and I think, rather than the middle east, all peoples came of the peoples of the indus valley – or, the indians.  and I think most, if not all, of the creation myths and gods  came from the beliefs of the indians.  I think they're the ones who started it all.

I think all that stuff about people originating in the middle east is way off.

it's funny that the word "mana" means "imagination".  be cause there's a notion that the "manna" mentioned in the book of middle eastern fairy tales was actually mushrooms – hallucinogenic mushrooms.  so may be these mushrooms opened up the imagination and the people felt some kind of mystical union with the god they believed in – which was originally an indian god.

  22. You got it wrong here !  Sanatan Dharma ( Hinduism) is the Oldest religion , Jainism , Buddhism have come out of Sanatan not the other way round, Be careful from next time onwards as this creates confusion for newbies.

  23. Panchakosha comes from the Taittiriya Upanishad and does not come from the Sutras.  Also, sutra is not translated as seed.  It means thread…
